Gutenberg Communications Continues To Receive Industry Accolades For Exceptional Public Relations Programs

Firm Honored with Awards from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals and the Society for New Communications Research

NEW YORK – December , 2007 – Gutenberg Communications a global, full-service strategic communications firm offering public and investor relations services, today announced that it has received a Gold MarCom Award from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals and an Award of Merit from the Society for New Communications Research for its superior public awareness and media relations campaigns.

Presented annually, the MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. There were more than 5,000 entries for this year’s Awards program and the submission by Gutenberg Communications, “Breaking through the Noise at Davos,” was recognized in the media relations/magazine placement category.

For its award-winning campaign, Gutenberg Communications developed and successfully implemented an outreach plan to leverage the attendance of a client’s CEO at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to generate media coverage. As a result of the agency’s efforts the CEO was interviewed by reporters from leading media outlets including The Financial Times, The New York Times, Associated Press and The Economist; resulting in coverage with Forbes, Bloomberg Television, Reuters and USA Today among others.

“We are particularly pleased to receive this recognition from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals,” said Hugh Burnham, Co-founder and CEO North America of Gutenberg Communications. “We have built a strong executive visibility and thought leadership practice and this recognition is further acknowledgement of our ability to deliver amazing results for our clients in this area.”

The Society for New Communications Research (SNCR) is a global think tank that is dedicated to the advanced study of new communications tools, technologies and emerging modes of communication, and their effect on traditional media, professional communications, business, culture and society. Its annual awards program recognizes excellence in the use of new communications models and solutions.

Gutenberg Communications was selected as an Award of Merit recipient in the nonprofit category for its campaign, “The Power of One to Save a Life: Become a Committed Donor.” The campaign focused on helping to raise awareness of the need for South Asians to join marrow and blood donor registries. The team developed a grassroots outreach campaign to reach both the media and the community at large. Efforts included developing a web site, creating PSAs, viral videos and direct marketing. As a result of the efforts of Gutenberg Communications ABC News, Reuters Television and CNN and CNBC India covered the story.

“We are of course very happy to receive this award, but we are even more thrilled that Gutenberg Communications was able to contribute our time, skills and experience to support such a worthy cause,” said Harjiv Singh, Co-founder and CEO International of Gutenberg Communications. “More than 22,000 South Asians registered as blood and marrow donors in part due to the innovative and untiring efforts of our team.”
