Growing Firm Continues to Share Best Practices in Corporate Communications
NEW YORK - August, 28, 2007 – Gutenberg Communications a global, full-service strategic communications firm offering public and investor relations services, today announced that North American CEO and Co-founder Hugh Burnham will has been selected as a speaker at the International Association of Business Communications Heritage Region Conference 2007. The conference will take place from October 14-17, at the Embassy Suites Cincinnati – RiverCenter in Great Cincinnati, Kentucky.
Hugh's presentation, “How Corporate PR Can Win You a Seat in the Executive Suite,” occurs on Thursday, October 16, from 10:45 a.m. to noon. He will share the platform with John Pratt, Senior Director, Corporate Communications of Convergys Corporation, a client of the firm. During the presentation Hugh and John will discuss the growing strategic role of corporate communications; how media relations can impact the company's bottom line and designing communications initiatives to differentiate a company from the competition.

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is a professional network of more than 14,000 business communications professional worldwide. With more than a decade of experience in technology and corporate public relations, Hugh is well known for his skills in PR strategy-setting, corporate positioning, and executive communications. Prior to founding Gutenberg Communications, he led the New York office of the San Francisco-based public relations firm Phase Two Strategies where he managed the communications needs of enterprise software clients such as PeopleSoft and Sybase. He has also managed communications programs of large public companies while at leading firms such as Schwartz Communications, Weber Shandwick and Blanc & Otus. At Weber Shandwick, Hugh handled corporate merger and acquisitions and media relations for IPO's for a broad array of clients within the corporate and investor relations group. A native of Massachusetts, Hugh grew up in London, England, completing his A Levels at Harrow School. He graduated from Tufts University.
