NEW YORK , May, 16, 2007 —Harjiv Singh, Co-Founder and CEO International of Gutenberg Communications will discuss how Indian companies can build global brands, as part of “ Branding in India , ” an event organized by Columbia Business School 's, Centre on Global Brand Leadership, in New York.
The event is part of the World Trade Week activities taking place through out New York . Harjiv Singh has played an active role in leading Gutenberg Communications expansion into international markets like the United Kingdom and India . He has helped various Indian companies in their outward expansion on the global stage.
Indian brands are becoming increasingly global announcing 34 international acquisitions totaling nearly $11 billion in the first quarter of this year, according to market research firm Dealogic. Indian firms spent $23 billion in 2006 on global mergers, a total five times higher than any`time`in the past.

About Harjiv Singh:
Harjiv, a Gutenberg co-founder, leads the international expansion for Gutenberg Communications. He established Gutenberg's London , New Delhi and Bangalore offices and has led the company's rapid growth over the last three years. Harjiv works extensively with clients across a diverse range of industries like technology, real estate, investment management, academic and the non-profit sectors providing communications strategy and counsel.
Prior to this he worked at Edelman as a consultant. A serial entrepreneur, Harjiv, co-founded MDoffices.com, a wireless software company in the healthcare industry. He has also worked at Priceline.com in strategic planning and as an analyst at Adam Smith & Company, a New York City hedge fund. Harjiv began his career as a Financial Analyst in GE Capital's Financial Management Program.
Harjiv has been a campaign advisor to a former Member of the Indian Parliament and cabinet minister and also worked on Mayor Michael Bloomberg's successful run for Mayor of New York City in 2001. He is a member of the South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) and is on the executive committee of The Indus Entrepreneurs' (TiE) New York chapter. He serves on the Advisory Board of India Knowledge@Wharton; on the Board of Directors of the United Nations Association of New York; and on the advisory board of technology start-up company Red Cell Media, LLC.
